This evening the Hesston Public Library in Hesston, Kansas will host an Open House. The purpose is to recognize the retiring Librarian’s commitment and years of service. Small 3d vignettes have been prepared using Google SketchUp and applied to a presentation board. The board will be the citizens first look at the layout of their newly renovated space. They are purposefully left un-rendered to allow the design committee time to review and select appropriate interior finishes.
We have selected five areas of the Library to showcase. They are: Coffee Bar, Community Meeting Room, Children’s Library, Young Adults Library and the Fireside Reading Room.
The image presented here is the Coffee Bar. Today’s libraries are becoming more and more like their retail counterparts. A Coffee Bar was on the list of requested spaces when a community survey was taken during Programming. You can see a small service area that can function either as a self-serve bar or by using a barista. Bistro tables and soft seating is located nearby and the whole space is close to the entry.
